On the evening of October 20th, the College of Marine Science and Engineering organized a group study and discussion activity for probationary Party members in 2025. All probationary Party members were divided into three groups to participate. The theme of this discussion is: How to play a vanguard and exemplary role and strive to grow into new era individuals capable of shouldering the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.
All the participants watched the special educational video together, and each group had a lively discussion around the content and theme of the video. During the group representative presentation session, all groups unanimously agreed that to play a vanguard and exemplary role, efforts should be made in three aspects: First, to firmly hold onto ideals and beliefs, consolidate ideological foundations, and transform the achievements of theoretical study into political awareness, ideological awareness, and action awareness; Second, we should base ourselves on professional practice, closely integrate scientific research innovation with national demands, actively participate in the breakthroughs of major scientific research projects, and break through the "bottleneck" technologies. Third, integrate into the central work, actively participate in class and team building, volunteer services, "one-stop" student community activities, etc., and constantly strengthen the awareness of the purpose of "serving the people".
Through the forms of video guidance, group discussions, and summaries by group leaders, group discussions have achieved a deep integration of theoretical learning and practical thinking. The group leaders emphasized that all Party members should take the "five models" as the standard, transform the vanguard and exemplary role into the centripetal force, willpower and action ability of "winning the future starts now", show their identity and take action in academic breakthroughs, scientific and technological innovation and serving the people, and become the backbone force in the construction of a maritime power. The Party members all expressed that they would transform the achievements of the discussion and study into the driving force for practical work, and strive to grow into capable and responsible new people of The Times.
