To guide students in better planning their university studies and future development, on the evening of October 12, 2025, the "Youth Continues, Role Models Lead" theme education evening roll call activity for the 2024 undergraduate students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering was successfully held. This evening roll call event was hosted by Teacher Zhu Diyao and invited Cao Yixin, a student from Class 233 of Port and Shipping, to share her experience.
During the sharing session, Senior Cao Yixin, with the theme of "Sharing University Study and Life", engaged in an exchange around four aspects: "Capturing Information", "Preparing in Advance", "Choosing Directions", and "Enriching Life". Drawing on her own experiences, she elaborated in detail on the key points of comprehensive assessment and scholarship evaluation, reminding the students to pay attention to the balance between GPA and practical innovation. In terms of scientific research and competitions, she suggests that students get to know their supervisors' research directions and various competition information as early as possible, and take the initiative to accumulate research experience. Regarding different development paths such as "recommendation for postgraduate study, postgraduate entrance examination, and employment", Senior Cao Yixin shared her thoughts and suggestions, encouraging students to make rational choices based on their personal interests and abilities. In the section on college life, she emphasized the significant importance of student work, academic expansion, volunteer services and good living habits in enhancing overall quality.
At the end of the event, Senior Cao Yixin sent a message to the students present, saying, "Allow yourself to make mistakes and move forward at your own pace." She encouraged everyone to grow through exploration and to harvest their own wonderful college years through hard work.
The content of this evening roll call event was detailed and the atmosphere on the spot was lively. It provided a useful reference for the sophomore students to clarify their academic plans and life directions, and fully played the exemplary and leading role of outstanding students.
