To promote the spirit of patriotism, continuously strengthen Party spirit education, and advance the in-depth and solid implementation of work style construction, on the afternoon of September 28, 2025, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the victory of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, the College of Marine Science and Engineering organized Party members among teachers and students to visit the Shanghai Chinese People's Volunteers Memorial Hall.
Under the passionate and vivid narration of the guide, the teachers and students delved deeply into the decision-making background and process of the Chinese People's Volunteers' resistance to the United States and Aid Korea, gained a detailed understanding of the hardships and strategic significance of the five battles, and relived the touching stories and noble spirits of heroic figures such as Yang Genshi and Huang Jiguang. By viewing the physical exhibits, historical pictures and precious videos, everyone felt as if they were transported back to that glorious period, witnessing with their own eyes the magnificent scene of the Chinese People's Volunteers, composed of outstanding sons and daughters of the Chinese nation, crossing the Yalu River with high spirits and determination. They deeply felt the great spirit of the revolutionary martyrs' self-sacrifice, bravery and tenacity, and fearlessness in the face of difficulties during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
After the visit, everyone unanimously expressed that history is the best textbook and also the best wake-up call. In future work and study, we should inherit and carry forward the great spirit of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, remember history, honor the martyrs, always keep our original aspiration and mission, and devote ourselves to the construction of a maritime power with a more vigorous attitude, contributing wisdom and strength to serving the national strategy and the development of the industry.
