In order to further strengthen laboratory safety management, identify potential safety hazards, and ensure the personal safety of teachers and students as well as the order of teaching and research, on the afternoon of September 22nd, Feng Daolun, the dean of the College of Marine Science and Engineering, led a team to conduct on-site self-inspections of the teaching and research laboratories of the college.

This self-inspection was conducted in accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Laboratory Safety Inspection Project List for Higher Education Institutions (2025)", conducting a detailed investigation into aspects such as the management of hazardous chemicals, the storage of gas cylinders, the proper use of instruments, and daily cleaning and hygiene. On-site rectification suggestions were put forward for the problems identified.

President Feng Daolun emphasized during the inspection that safety is no small matter. The laboratory is an important front for teaching and research, and the concept of "safety first, prevention foremost" must be firmly established. He demanded that each experimental center strictly implement the safety responsibility system, establish and improve the hidden danger ledger, clarify the rectification time limit and responsible person, ensure the closed-loop management of hidden danger rectification, and effectively build a solid safety defense line on campus.

This self-inspection work has further tightened and solidified safety responsibilities. The college will continue to consolidate the rectification achievements through regular "follow-up reviews" and other means to ensure the safe and stable operation of the laboratories.
