On September 12, the College of Marine Science and Engineering successfully welcomed 184 new graduate students from across the country into its big family.
This year's orientation continued the distinctive "students-welcoming-students" model, forming a volunteer team that included both returning students and new students from the Class of 2025
. These volunteers, having received systematic training in advance, provided efficient and warm services in guiding newcomers, verifying materials, and helping with luggage, ensuring the entire process was smooth and orderly. This approach not only effectively alleviated the initial anxiety and unfamiliarity felt by new students but also fostered emotional connections and communication between students of different grades. Senior volunteers proactively shared their experiences in academic research and campus life, helping the new students adapt to their new environment and integrate into the community more quickly.
May the Class of 2025 remember the university motto of "Loyalty, Integrity, Diligence, and Respect," set lofty ideals, stay true to their academic aspirations, and focus on national strategic needs
. Cherishing their learning opportunities, may they courageously scale new heights in research, hone their skills, and enhance their capabilities through continuous exploration and practice, striving to grow into a new generation capable of shouldering the task of national rejuvenation.
Following the orientation, the college will organize a series of diverse and substantialEntrance education activities
. These will revolve around themes such as sharing scientific research experiences, laying a foundation for academic norms, and supporting psychological adjustment, aiming to provide all-round support for the new students as they embark on their new journey
