On July 4, 2025, Feng Daolun, Dean of the School of Marine Science and Engineering, Zhang Jie, a teacher of the Department of Port and Shipping, and Lei Mengyu, the head of employment, visited the Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau of the Yangtze River, and were warmly received by He Xuhai and Rong Hairong, Deputy Directors of the Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau of the Yangtze River.
He Xuhai extended a warm welcome to Feng Daolun and his entourage. He said that the Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau shoulders the political mission of ensuring the smooth passage of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, construction and maintenance, and cultivating compound talents for the construction of the modern Yangtze River Waterway is an important topic at present, and the school has sent a number of outstanding talents to the Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau in recent years, which has played a positive role in promoting the optimization of the talent structure and the improvement of the comprehensive quality of talents in the Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau, and looks forward to establishing long-term and in-depth cooperative relations with our school in the introduction and training of talents, scientific and technological innovation, etc., so as to achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages.
Feng Daolun introduced the development history, faculty, talent training, and scientific research achievements of the college. He said that the engineering practice scenarios and technological innovation needs of the Yangtze River Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau are highly complementary to the scientific research strength and talent resources of the college, and he hopes to further deepen the cooperation with the Yangtze River Wuhan Waterway Engineering Bureau in the fields of integration of industry and education, scientific research and talent training.
The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on scientific research and technology exchanges, talent training, internship practice, etc., and jointly promoted the development and progress of the port and shipping industry.
After the meeting, Feng Daolun and his entourage visited the five-star ship Sucker 2. The School of Marine Science and Engineering will also continue to carry out the work of visiting enterprises to expand their jobs, further integrate high-quality employment resources, and help graduates find high-quality and accurate employment.
