In order to deepen the innovation and entrepreneurship education of young students and cultivate compound talents with both scientific spirit and practical ability, on June 23-26, the special activity of the 2025 Youth Horse Class of the School of Marine Science and Engineering - Hi Youth Ability Growth Camp and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp was successfully held. The event invited four teachers, Dong Yaohua, Yao Xin, Guo Yuanyuan and Yuan Rui, as keynote speakers, and showed the students the infinite possibilities of scientific and technological innovation to empower future development through theme salons, case sharing, experience guidance, interactive seminars and other forms.

Dong Yaohua, a professor-level senior engineer of the Department of Marine Materials, has guided the Challenge Cup college student entrepreneurship plan competition to win the municipal gold medal for many years, he focused on the series of college student entrepreneurship competitions, systematically analyzed the core points of the competition, focused on the scientific topic selection method and project construction path, and gave all-round guidance to the key links such as the participation process, evaluation criteria and project incubation, and gave detailed answers to all kinds of questions that the students were concerned about, covering multiple links from project conception to text polishing. The on-site interaction was enthusiastic and the atmosphere was warm. At the same time, in order to provide a more intuitive learning example, Mr. Dong invited his graduate student Wei Jinjin to conduct a project defense simulation, and Wei provided demonstration teaching for the students with rigorous academic logic, innovative research content and professional presentation, which effectively broadened the students' academic horizons and stimulated everyone's enthusiasm and innovation inspiration.

Mr. Yao Xin, a senior engineer of the Department of Marine Environment, with years of experience in science popularization, brought a unique interactive course of popular science to young students, and vividly demonstrated the clean energy technology path of converting solar energy into hydrogen energy and storing and reusing it as electrical energy through the on-site demonstration of his self-developed photovoltaic hydrogen production-fuel cell drive science and education ship model, and conveyed the concept of green shipping to the students. At the same time, combined with his rich experience in science popularization, he shared in detail the innovative incubation model of one project, multiple applications, and instructed the trainees how to expand the concept of high-quality projects to multiple discipline competition platforms to maximize the application of project value.

Guo Yuanyuan, a teacher from Shanghai Ocean University, shared her experience of learning and using artificial intelligence and empowering work with young students with the theme of AI Magic Lesson 1: Painting and Video Creation Superpowers for Teachers and Students in Colleges and Universities. As an expert in the field of artificial intelligence, Mr. Guo led the students to appreciate the innovative application of AIGC technology in the fields of painting, video creation and digital human design through rich case demonstrations, and shared the workflow and methods of efficient use of large language models such as DeepSeek to assist creative ideation and prompt word engineering. In addition, Mr. Guo showed the students how AI can become a super tool to connect majors and interests, improve work efficiency, and realize creativity based on the actual results of career planning agents and promotional videos developed by him. She emphasized that in the era of rapid development of AI technology, maintaining enthusiasm for learning, improving aesthetic ability, and mastering the method of collaborative creation with AI are the keys for young students to embrace the future and broaden their career development possibilities.

Mr. Yuan Rui, associate professor of the Department of Marine Environment, gave in-depth guidance on the Challenge Cup scientific and technological innovation competition and the China International College Student Innovation Competition. Combined with his years of guidance experience and evaluation observation, Mr. Yuan systematically extracted the three core elements of the competition: one is teamwork and multiple abilities, Mr. Yuan emphasized that team members need to have the diversified ability and efficient communication and cooperation ability of eight immortals across the sea, each showing their magical powers, and jointly cope with challenges; The second is the ability of closed-loop thinking, which requires the project idea to complete the closed loop from conception to implementation within the minimum cycle and minimum cost, so as to ensure the logical self-consistency of the project in core aspects such as target users, market positioning, and profit model; The third is passion and execution, Mr. Yuan encouraged the students to maintain the passion for innovation, and transform passion into strong execution, and show maturity and responsibility in the practice of competition. The students had in-depth exchanges with Mr. Yuan on issues such as breakthrough idea generation and improvement of the competitiveness of students in ordinary colleges.

The series of activities of Hi Youth Ability Growth Camp and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp built a communication and learning platform integrating scientific and technological innovation, practical application and value leadership for the students, which effectively stimulated the students' enthusiasm for scientific and technological innovation and in-depth thinking about future development, guided young students to grasp the frontier of science and technology while cultivating the feelings of the family and the country, and laid a solid foundation for the college to cultivate innovative practical talents in the new era.
