In order to further improve the professionalism of the counselor team and strengthen the effectiveness of students' work, on the afternoon of June 20, the School of Marine Science and Engineering organized all full-time and part-time counselors to conduct a regular business learning meeting in Conference Room 306 of the college. The conference focused on the two core topics of high-quality employment promotion and deepening mental health education, laying a solid foundation for escorting students' growth and success.
First of all, the counselor, Mr. Lei Mengyu, took the detailed employment data of graduates as the starting point and brought the theme sharing of Thinking on the High-quality Employment Path of the College. Through the in-depth analysis of multi-dimensional data such as employment flow, industry distribution, salary level, and proportion of further study, the current employment situation faced by graduates is accurately presented, and the key factors affecting the quality of employment are clearly sorted out. Based on rigorous data support, Mr. Lei proposed a systematic and operable optimization strategy to help achieve a steady improvement in the quality of employment.
Subsequently, Ms. Xu, the counselor, shared the typical cases of recent handling around the mental health of students. From the background of the case, the intervention process, to the difficulties and experience summary, Mr. Xu gave a comprehensive and nuanced explanation. Relying on cases, the participants discussed in depth the methods of early identification of psychological crises, the communication mechanism between home and school, and the mode of follow-up and support. Teacher Xu emphasized that mental health work has a great responsibility, and it is necessary to always maintain a sense of awe, continuously improve professional ability and emergency response level, and effectively create a solid spiritual harbor for students.
Dong Chaoqun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college, pointed out that high-quality employment and mental health education is an indispensable one body and two wings for students' growth and success, which is directly related to students' personal development and the effectiveness of the college's education. It is required to realize the role change from transaction processor to development guide, use data thinking to accurately grasp employment trends, build a complete psychological protection system with benevolence and professionalism, and help students develop in an all-round way.
This regular business learning meeting is problem-oriented, and through rich cases and in-depth discussions, it effectively improves the ability of the counselor team to solve practical problems, injects new vitality into the college's deepening of the three comprehensive education work, promotes the refinement and specialization of student work, and lays a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the college's student work.
