To thoroughly implement the requirements for talent cultivation in the new era, comprehensively enhance the innovative thinking and practical literacy of young students, and deepen the connotation of patriotism education, the "CityWalk Red Exploration" practical research results report meeting of the 2025 Youth Marxist Training Class and the New Youth Red Research Camp of the College of Marine Science and Engineering was successfully held on the afternoon of June 23.
This red exploration activity, through the model of "offline visits + online expansion", has effectively promoted the transformation of red culture from cognition to identification, and from emotion to action. In the early stage, each group, through carefully designed visiting routes, conducted immersive visits and studies to important red venues and relics in Shanghai and its surrounding areas that are inscribed with a profound history of the Party and revolutionary spirit. In their reports, they comprehensively shared what they saw, heard, and thought during the practice in various forms such as wonderful pictures and texts, videos, and tables. The reports of each group reflected the strong contemporary thinking of young students. Through the complete closed loop of "reading history - studying theories in depth - practicing missions", the students deeply realized that the red spirit is not only a monument of history, but also a mission and responsibility that young people in the new era need to inherit. The students have expressed their firm determination to "integrate the red gene into the blood of youth", "take over the torch of faith from the ancestors", and "inherit the faith and responsibility that have spanned a century through practical work". They also emphasized that in the future, they will consciously inherit the red gene, bravely shoulder the responsibilities of the times, and strive to grow into good young people of the new era who have ideals, dare to take responsibility, can endure hardships, and are willing to struggle.
Mr. He Haibo, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the College, listened to the report and put forward constructive suggestions on deepening the connotation of the achievement report and innovating the display forms. First of all, Mr. He affirmed the students' earnest and dedicated attitude, rigorous and meticulous route design, rich and diverse learning forms, as well as their profound and sincere insights. He required each group to further optimize the practical results and route design, condense the themes, and form a promotable and replicable red CityWalk route, so as to provide directly usable resource packages for the themed league day activities of the branches. He emphasized that young students should keep in mind the core purpose of this practice - to "internalize the red spirit in the heart and externalize it in action". They should break through the boundaries of thinking in the cognitive dimension, strengthen practical transformation in the ability dimension, and cultivate a deep family and country feelings in the value dimension. They should transform what they have learned today into what they can use tomorrow, truly integrate the red spirit into their daily life and future career development, and embody it in specific actions of serving the society and contributing to the country. They should stand tall and take responsibility in the great journey of building a strong country and national rejuvenation, and contribute their youth power.
This "CityWalk Red Exploration" practical research activity has created a three-dimensional platform for young students to learn history, perceive spirits, and fulfill their missions through on-site visits, immersive experiences, and achievement transformation, guiding them to integrate the red gene into their youth blood. In the future, the college will continue to deepen such practical education activities, encouraging students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs in inheriting the red spirit, demonstrate their youthful responsibility in serving national development, and let patriotic education radiate vitality in the new era.
