In order to further strengthen the construction of learning style and help students improve their comprehensive English ability and preparation level for the British Competition, on May 28, 2025, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held a special learning style construction activity for university English competition guidance, and specially invited Zhu Xiaoling, a teacher from the School of Foreign Chinese Languages, to bring professional guidance and experience sharing to students.
In the activity, Ms. Zhu Xiaoling introduced the structure of the test paper, the question types of each part and the problem-solving skills in detail, focusing on the analysis of the key points of listening, reading, translation, writing and other modules. In response to the common English writing problems of students, Ms. Zhu Xiaoling taught practical frameworks and skills from the aspects of writing structure, argumentation logic, and language expression, so as to help everyone build clear writing ideas. In particular, Ms. Zhu Xiaoling introduced to the students how to use AI tools to score, analyze and revise their English essays based on the current application of artificial intelligence technology, so as to achieve a personalized and intelligent writing improvement path.
This activity not only enhanced the students' understanding and confidence in the British Competition, but also stimulated the students' enthusiasm for learning English independently, which helped to make up for the shortcomings of the relatively weak English foundation of engineering students. The School of Marine Science and Engineering will continue to carry out a series of Haike Help activities to provide students with multi-dimensional learning support, create a strong academic atmosphere, and help young students develop in an all-round way.
