In order to thoroughly implement the requirements of the school's 15th Five-Year Plan and deeply anchor the strategic goal of marine power, on the afternoon of May 27, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held a 15th Five-Year Plan development plan preparation work promotion meeting. Members of the leadership team of the college, heads of various majors and experimental centers attended the meeting to comprehensively deploy key tasks and build consensus on high-quality development.
Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, emphasized in the work deployment that it is necessary to focus on improving the level of scientific research and innovation and the visibility of the industry, deeply connect with the national strategic needs, focus on the frontier of ship and ocean engineering disciplines, and systematically promote the research and development of key core technologies such as marine intelligent equipment and environmental materials. In terms of talent training, it is proposed to innovate and build a dual-track education system of ideological and political guidance and discipline and restraint, and consolidate the foundation for the cultivation of leading talents in the marine field by strengthening the two-wheel drive of political literacy cultivation and professional ethics education. In particular, it is pointed out that it is necessary to aim at the bottleneck problem of marine science and technology, and accurately cultivate compound innovative talents with both family and country feelings and cross-border vision.
Feng Daolun, deputy secretary of the Party committee and dean, systematically explained the implementation path of discipline construction, and proposed to focus on the four strategic directions of interdisciplinary integration, organized scientific research, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and social service level. Efforts should be made to deepen the demand-oriented research mechanism, focus on cultivating landmark achievements with international influence, and effectively enhance the strategic support ability of the college in the construction of a maritime power. It is emphasized that it is necessary to strictly benchmark the school planning framework, innovate and establish a four-dimensional management list of goals, tasks, responsible persons and time nodes, and implement a full-cycle dynamic tracking and quantitative assessment mechanism to ensure that the planning and implementation are closed-loop and controllable.
During the meeting, the participants conducted in-depth discussions on the planning and implementation path, and formed a number of constructive consensus on key topics such as the interdisciplinary innovation model, the long-term mechanism of the integration of industry and education, and the direction of scientific research breakthroughs. In the next stage, the college will deepen and refine the planning and implementation plan, and continue to contribute maritime wisdom and solutions to serve the strategy of maritime power.
