On the morning of April 26, 2025, Professor Liu Boyang gave a lecture on the theme of From 'Qualified' to 'Excellent', the Standardized Advanced and Pit Avoidance Guide for Academic Paper Writing for the training activities of the 10th Inspirational College of Shanghai Maritime University in the Bangjian Lecture Hall.
At the beginning of the lecture, Mr. Liu opened with three thought-provoking questions: Is scientific paper writing far away from us? Why learn to write a scientific paper? Where is the new thinking in the era of AI? These three questions immediately triggered in-depth thinking among the students present.
In the main part of the lecture, Mr. Liu systematically explained the concept, characteristics and classification of scientific and technological papers, focusing on the analysis of the structure and writing requirements of scientific and technological papers. Through vivid and humorous metaphors, the complex structure of the paper becomes easy to understand. In the Guide to Avoiding Pitfalls, Mr. Liu listed the most common mistakes that students make in thesis writing based on years of writing experience, and gave specific and feasible suggestions for improvement.
This unique academic lecture not only allowed the students to systematically master the essentials of scientific and technological paper writing, but also stimulated everyone's academic enthusiasm. After the event, the students said that Mr. Liu's explanation was simple and humorous, which made the originally boring essay writing interesting. I believe that through this lecture, students will be more confident and calm on their future academic path!
