In order to further help first-year students adapt to the pace of university learning and enhance their learning ability in advanced mathematics courses, on May 21, 2025, the School of Ocean Science and Engineering held the first Haike Help, High Mathematics Classroom activity in the one-stop student community room. In this event, two sophomores, Li Bingchen and Li Chengqi, were invited to serve as student lecturers to answer questions and help first-year students grow through experience sharing and on-site Q&A.
In the process of answering questions, the two student lecturers not only paid attention to the explanation of specific topics, but also paid more attention to guiding students to clarify the knowledge context and master systematic learning methods. Based on their own learning experience, they shared practical tips such as how to organize class notes efficiently, how to improve the review effect through periodic review, and how to consolidate knowledge with the help of past question training. After sharing their experience, the two seniors answered questions in groups according to the questions raised by the students, and gave detailed and patient guidance on the unclear understanding of concepts and weak grasp of typical question types. In the process of step-by-step and simple explanation, it not only helped students sort out their problem-solving ideas and master learning skills, but also stimulated their interest in learning and enthusiasm for participation. Many students who were originally confused and intimidated by higher mathematics said that through face-to-face communication and interaction, not only the knowledge structure was clearer, but also their confidence in solving problems was significantly improved.
Through the establishment of a vertical mutual aid mechanism of senior students leading junior students, the series of academic assistance activities of Haike Help continue to create a learning atmosphere of catching up with and surpassing learning in the college. The development of this activity not only brought practical learning help to the first-year students, but also built a platform for communication between students of different grades, and further promoted the construction and inheritance of the excellent academic style of the college.
