On May 8, 2025, Wu Yichuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the East China Sea Development Research Center, and his delegation visited the School of Ocean Science and Engineering of Shanghai Maritime University. Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Feng Daolun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean, Guo Jiamin, Vice Dean, and Xiong Zhixin, Director of the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, attended the symposium and accompanied the visit to the key laboratory of the college.
Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee, extended a warm welcome to the visit of the East China Sea Development Research Center, and emphasized that it is necessary to give full play to the superimposed advantages of geographical proximity, discipline integration and resource complementarity, and strive to build a new paradigm of school-government cooperation led by party building, platform co-construction and achievement sharing. Jointly build the Lingang Marine Science and Technology Innovation Consortium to create a demonstration model of collaborative innovation in marine science and technology in the Yangtze River Delta.
Dean Feng Daolun focused on the achievements of the college in discipline construction, scientific research and innovation and serving the national marine strategy, and pointed out that the geographical distance between the college and the East China Sea Development Research Center is only 500 meters, which provides a unique advantage for building a marine science and technology innovation corridor in the Lingang New Area, and the two sides have a broad space for cooperation in the sharing of experimental platforms, the construction of talent echelons, and the joint declaration of major projects.
Deputy Secretary Wu Yichuan expressed his gratitude to the college for its reception, introduced in detail the core scientific research facilities such as the wave tank, experimental pool and wind tunnel of the center, and hoped that the two sides would continue to deepen the cooperation in large-scale equipment sharing, scientific research collaboration and compound talent training, focusing on joint research in frontier fields such as shipbuilding and marine engineering and marine resource development, and jointly cultivating new momentum for regional economic development.
The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the sharing mechanism of the experimental platform, the talent exchange and training mode, and the direction of scientific research project cooperation.
Before the meeting, Deputy Secretary Wu Yichuan and his entourage visited the relevant experimental centers of the college. The relevant person in charge of the laboratory introduced the situation of the laboratory.
