Forging the Core Competitiveness of Universities: The Leap from Knowledge to Ability - The Theme of the 2024 Undergraduate Students of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering is Late Roll Call

In order to guide students to deeply understand the true meaning of university education and enhance their core competitiveness, on the evening of May 11, 2025, the 2024 undergraduate students of the School of Marine Science and Engineering successfully launched a late roll call with the theme of Forging the Core Competitiveness of Universities: The Leap from Knowledge to Ability. The event was hosted and shared by the counselor, Ms. Xu Ling.

During the event, Ms. Xu Ling gave the theme of What kind of university results are satisfactory? As a starting point, it emphasizes the importance of ability enhancement at the university level, and guides students to understand the direction of self-growth and development from different dimensions. Teacher Xu Ling combined with the concept of T-shaped talents, analyzed the coordinated development of professional depth and general knowledge breadth in simple terms, and explained that the real goal of education is not only the accumulation of knowledge, but also the forging of ability.

Finally, Ms. Xu Ling concluded that the acquisition of ability is an inexhaustible driving force based on the future, and students should consciously cultivate their ability to continue learning and applying. The theme of the late roll call was rich and resonant, which further stimulated the enthusiasm of students to actively pursue growth and shape their abilities at the university level.
