To deepen the study and education of the spirit of the Eight Regulations of the Central Committee and to inherit the red spirit, the Marine Materials Graduate Student Party Branch recently organized a themed party day activity for all party members in meeting room A221 of the library, under the theme Inheriting the Red Gene, Empowering Marine Technology Breakthroughs. The activity included watching red-themed educational videos and conducting special discussions. The event focused on the core of the red spirit and its transformation into scientific research practice, encouraging party members to carry on the red bloodline and strengthen their sense of mission through immersive education, thematic discussions, and scientific research practice. Party members gained a profound understanding of the dedication of martyrs who risked their lives for national liberation and development through visual materials, reverently appreciating historical artifacts and images. The precious pictures and relics vividly restored the heroic years when revolutionary martyrs fought bloodily for national liberation. Using the deeds of martyrs like Li Dazhao and Fang Zhimin as examples, the discussion deeply explained the faith power of Revolutionary ideals are higher than the sky, emphasizing that the red spirit is the lighthouse for scientific workers overcoming difficulties. The stories of the martyrs teach us that tackling key scientific issues also requires the resolve of 'not returning until we conquer the land.' Although the technological research and development of deep-sea materials is challenging, the needs of the country are our call to action! After watching the video, a seminar themed Red Spirit and Self-reliance in Science and Technology was held immediately, systematically analyzing the four core connotations of red spirit through a red-themed PPT: Firm ideals and convictions: aligning with the Party Constitution and the strategic needs of a 'maritime power'; Courage to sacrifice and dedicate: drawing scientific determination from the spirit of Two Bombs, One Satellite; Practicing the mass line: transforming laboratory results into practical technology for marine engineering; Brave innovation: original research practicing self-reliance in science and technology, solving problems. Branch secretary Teacher Sun Kai encouraged everyone: “We should tackle difficulties as the martyrs did in conquering their positions, transforming the insights from the themed party day activity into actions for learning and scientific research, striving to realize technological contribution to our country.”
