On April 23, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 10th Inspirational College of Shanghai Maritime University, hosted by the Student Affairs Office and undertaken by the School of Marine Science and Engineering, was successfully held in the COSCO Lecture Hall. Zheng Hongxiang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, Dong Chaoqun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Marine Science and Engineering, and Wang Yunzhen, Director of the Funding Center, attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Mr. Wang Yunzhen.
Mr. Zheng Hongxiang, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, systematically introduced the general situation of Inspirational College, and expounded the training concept and education ideas of Inspirational Academy. Guided by the growth stories of the outstanding students of the previous years, Mr. Zheng affectionately encouraged the new students to grasp the learning opportunities of this issue of the Academy, improve their comprehensive literacy through mutual learning and mutual learning, and temper their skills with knowledge and action, so that the pace of youth can resonate with the pulse of the development of the motherland.
Deng Jiarong, the representative of the ninth batch of outstanding students and the School of Economics and Management, shared his growth insights of seeking inward, looking forward, and looking towards the sun based on his own learning experience, and called on the new students to take root and grow upward on the fertile soil of Inspirational College.
Yang Kai, the representative of the students in this issue and the School of Marine Science and Engineering, solemnly promised with the theme of Youth Chasing Waves, Strengthening the Country with Me: first, we must be a fighter who integrates knowledge and action, and transform training knowledge into practical ability to serve the strategy of marine power; Second, we must be a dreamer with our family and country in mind, and devote ourselves to the major needs of national deep blue scientific research with professional expertise; Third, we must be the inheritor of the relay of love, always keep a grateful heart, and convey the warmth and strength of the inspirational college with actions.
The leaders also awarded class flags to the class teachers.
Youth inspires ambition, inspirational and dedicates to a new journey. It is hoped that students will gain knowledge, improve their abilities in the Inspirational College, grow into shipping talents in line with the development needs of the times, and contribute their youth strength to the development of the school and the construction of the country.
