On April 21, 2025, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held a symposium for the backbone of 23 graduate students in the one-stop student community.

At the meeting, the counselors first emphasized the importance of safeguarding national security in the new era through policy interpretation in combination with the National Security Education Day activities. In view of the weakening of the confidentiality awareness of some college students, the counselors took typical cases as the starting point to carry out warning education, and called on the backbone students to take the lead in enhancing security awareness, earnestly fulfilling the responsibility of safeguarding national security, and always tightening the security strings in academic research and daily life.

Subsequently, the meeting focused on academic planning, dormitory safety, class management and other topics. Based on the actual demands of students, the counselors give practical responses: provide personalized guidance plans for academic development confusion; Propose specific rectification suggestions on dormitory safety issues; Practical counseling techniques for psychological stress problems. At the same time, the meeting particularly emphasized that the backbone team of students should give full play to the role of the link between uploading and issuing and sending down the situation, and grasp the class dynamics in real time. In addition, the symposium also set up a Tree Hole Whispering session, with listening as the core, to provide students with a private space to confide, answer their inner confusion, help them release pressure, and build a spiritual harbor.

This symposium was problem-oriented, and through exchanges and guidance, the sense of responsibility and service ability of the backbone of students were effectively improved. In the future, the school will continue to deepen the construction of a one-stop student community and continue to carry out various activities with rich content to help students develop and thrive in an all-round way.
