In order to promote traditional culture and practice the concept of labor education, on April 2, 2025, the Qingmeng Workshop of the School of Marine Science and Engineering held a traditional handicraft experience activity of Kneading Spring into Glutinous Fragrance and Going to a Youth League Appointment on the eve of the Qingming Festival. The event integrates the three links of youth league production, kitchen exploration and cultural dialogue, and feels the profound heritage of festival culture in inheritance and innovation.
Wormwood dyes spring, skillfully shapes ingenuity. Under the guidance of Mr. Sun Wenxue, the regional manager of the canteen, the students experienced the complete process of making the Youth League from kneading the dough, weighing and dividing the dough to wrapping the filling. The blend of fresh wormwood juice and glutinous rice flour gives the dough a jasper-like spring, while classic fillings such as bean paste and egg yolk meat floss are wrapped in a nod to traditional cuisine. At the event, the students used their creativity to pinch the Youth League into heart-shaped, flower-shaped shapes, etc., and awakened the vitality of thousand-year-old food customs with the temperature of their fingertips. After steaming, the Qingtuan was fragrant, and the students sighed when they tasted the fruits of their labor: Every bite is an immersive interpretation of traditional culture.
The 6T standard is true, and transparent management builds peace of mind. After the production experience, the students walked into the back kitchen of the renovated and upgraded canteen and felt the details of 6T standardized management up close. From the traceability of ingredients, the processing of raw and cooked partitions to the high-temperature disinfection of tableware, the standardized operation process makes food safety visible and tangible. The students said that through the standardized operation process and strict hygiene control, I truly realized the professional ingenuity behind each meal.
At the end of the event, Lei Mengyu, the instructor of Qingmeng Workshop, sat with the students to carry out a spring limited tea party to tell the cultural code in the Qingming story. Zhu Kaili, a student from Ningbo, said that the Youth League in her hometown will wrap a layer of glutinous rice on the surface and steam, symbolizing clean and clear, and the fragrance of pine pollen adds to the spring interest. Mr. Lei concluded: The Youth League is not only a festive delicacy, but also a cultural symbol that connects history and the present, carrying the Chinese nation's awe of nature and the poetry of life. ”
This activity uses the mode of labor practice and cultural immersion to allow students to understand the subtlety of intangible cultural heritage skills in hands-on practice, enhance their trust and sense of identity in the canteen work during the visit to the kitchen, and deepen their cultural identity in the story dialogue. Dream Workshop will continue to explore the educational connotation of traditional festivals, so that cultural inheritance can rejuvenate and rejuvenate in the new era.
