Recently, the Department of Marine Environment of the School of Marine Science and Engineering and the Party Branch of Marine Environment Students jointly carried out the professional identity education activities of the 2024 freshmen, and the participants of the event include: Lv Baoyi, head of the Department of Marine Environment, Ding Yi, Secretary of the Party Branch of Marine Environment Students, Yao Xin, tutor of the 24th class of the Environment, Zhu Wenwu and Shi Jianhong, full-time teachers of the Department of Marine Environment, and all students of the 241 and 242 classes of the Environment.

The teachers of the Department of Marine Environment introduced the professional training plan, the conditions of scientific research facilities and the overview of the teaching team to the students, which is enough to ensure that the students carry out various experimental research, scientific and technological innovation activities and professional exploration processes of interest. The full-time teachers of the Department of Marine Environment also answered the questions raised by the students one by one, and focused on publicizing and implementing the specific measures of the department in promoting professional identity education, including: (1) timely push all kinds of academic and professional information that students are concerned about, and answer students' questions in the first time, so as to strengthen the interaction and in-depth contact between the department and students; (2) Hold regular professional lectures, and invite students to observe some scientific research and scientific innovation activities being carried out in the department, so as to enhance students' ability to deeply participate in the construction of majors and disciplines, further stimulate students to learn professional knowledge, and treat the four-year study career of the major with enthusiasm and full of emotion. The teachers shared their own study process, as well as their in-depth views on the environmental major and environmental protection career, and cleared the current confusion for students with their own experiences, so that students can clarify the good development of their majors and take every step more firmly. At the end of the event, the teachers sent an earnest message to all the students: freshman year is the most critical start of four-year college life, only by laying a good foundation for learning, can we ensure a good upward momentum of follow-up learning, and good grades are always the key indicators for future study and employment.

The professional identity education activity lasted nearly 2 hours, and from the feedback of the students, I felt that everyone fully recognized the activity, and the department also agreed with the students that in the future, we would regularly carry out teacher-student exchange activities with rich forms and wonderful content to help students thrive and make the professional identity education activities deeper and more practical
