In order to deepen career planning education and help students clarify their career directions, on March 16, 2025, Lei Mengyu, the head of employment of the School of Marine Science and Engineering, and representatives of students majoring in port, waterway and coastal engineering held a career guidance symposium in the "one-stop" community room, and conducted in-depth exchanges on professional development, career planning and employability improvement.

At the symposium, Mr. Lei Mengyu combined the disciplinary characteristics and industry trends of port and coastal engineering to provide guidance from the three dimensions of "industry development trends", "job market prospects" and "personal core competitiveness". Through data analysis, he showed the growth point of talent demand in the field of port and shipping under the national strategy of "maritime power", and put forward suggestions on career choice, skill reserve and other issues that students are concerned about. Finally, Mr. Lei used the cases of previous graduates as a guide to analyze the career development path for students, and answered questions one by one for students' personalized questions.

This activity effectively enhanced the awareness of career planning through community-based exchanges close to students. The college will continue to carry out diversified career guidance activities to empower students' growth and high-quality development of the industry.
