In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng in the new era, and deepen the cooperation between the school and the local league. On March 12, 2025, the Youth League Committee of the School of Marine Science and Engineering of Shanghai Maritime University and the Youth League Committee of the Yangtze River Shanghai Waterway Office held a signing ceremony for the joint construction of the Youth League and the Youth League.
At the first stop of the event, the Youth League Committee of the Yangtze River Shanghai Waterway Department kicked off with the theme sharing of "Career Sea Pilot". Combined with the core business of waterway dredging and smart waterway management, the young backbone of the waterway department introduced the functional positioning and talent needs of the Yangtze River Waterway Bureau to the students in detail, and vividly demonstrated the responsibility of "guarding the golden waterway of the Yangtze River". Combined with the background of the implementation of the Waterway Law of the People's Republic of China, Wang Jingxian of the Waterway Division took the cases of ecological governance and navigation safety of the Yangtze River waterway as the starting point to interpret the legal connotation in simple terms. Subsequently, the youth members of the two sides went to the Lei Feng Hall of Shanghai Jianqiao University to carry out red research, and understood the value of Lei Feng's spirit by visiting the exhibition of Lei Feng's life and deeds and reviewing the oath of joining the group.
At the signing ceremony, He Haibo, on behalf of the Youth League Committee of the college, welcomed the arrival of Du Mengqian and his party from the Shanghai Waterway Department. He introduced the discipline setting of the college and the overall situation of the work of the Youth League Committee, and shared the experience of integrating professional practice and ideological and political education with the example of "walking group class". The Youth League Committee of the Shanghai Waterway Department of the Yangtze River focused on promoting the "Taoli Xixi" youth theoretical learning brand. Subsequently, the two sides signed the "Youth League Co-construction Agreement", agreeing to establish a long-term mechanism in the fields of talent training, volunteer service, and scientific research cooperation. In the future, relying on the "Lei Feng Map" volunteer service matrix, we will jointly carry out practical projects such as ecological monitoring of the Yangtze River and promotion of shipping culture, so as to promote more students to enter the front line of the waterway and write youth answers in the service of "Yangtze River Protection".
The tide of the Yangtze River is surging and thousands of sails are competing, and youth is starting a new journey hand in hand. The two sides will take the joint construction as a link to unite the strength of young people, protect the clear water of the river, and inject surging momentum into the construction of a transportation power and a shipping power.
