On the afternoon of March 5, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held a symposium for the new semester of graduate students in the "one-stop" community room. Dong Chaoqun, deputy secretary of the party committee of the college, and representatives of graduate students of all grades attended.
The theme of the symposium revolved around "Building a Harmonious Mentoring Relationship for Graduate Students in the New Era". At the meeting, Mr. Dong pointed out that graduate supervisors are the guides of graduate students' ideological values, confidants of daily life, fellow travelers of scientific research, and pioneers of innovative thinking, and play an irreplaceable and important role in the process of graduate training. Ms. Dong shared the case of harmonious mentoring relationship, and encouraged students to clarify their needs through open, honest and timely dialogue, so as to solve problems. At the same time, he encouraged the students to take the initiative to learn, clarify their goals, clarify their positioning, establish dialogues, and continue to grow in the mentoring relationship between teachers and friends. Representatives of graduate students of all grades spoke enthusiastically, expressing their deep gratitude to their supervisors and their vision for future cooperation. "We look forward to more practical opportunities from our supervisors to help us translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills," said one graduate student. Another student hoped that his supervisor would give him more flexible research direction choices to stimulate everyone's innovative thinking and enthusiasm for scientific research. At the symposium, the students spoke freely and the atmosphere was warm.
The purpose of this symposium is to analyze the typical classification and main problems of the current graduate student mentoring relationship, and to explore the cooperation mechanism for building a harmonious graduate student mentoring relationship, so as to continue to make efforts to create a harmonious mentoring relationship.
