On the evening of March 2, 2025, the 2024 undergraduate students of the School of Marine Science and Engineering successfully launched the theme of "Youth Continuing Role Model Pilot". The evening roll call was presided over by the counselor Ms. Xu Ling, who specially invited Yi Tianxin, a 2020 graduate and now works for the Port of Singapore Authority, to return to the school to communicate face-to-face with the current students, share their growth experience, and provide valuable career guidance for the students.
Based on his own experience, Senior Yi Tianxin described in detail his planning ideas at different stages of the university, including how to set learning goals, participate in practical activities, and expand international horizons. At the same time, he encouraged the younger students to actively explore their personal interests, arrange their time reasonably, enrich their university life, and lay a solid foundation for their future development. In the interactive session, students actively asked questions, covering topics such as the balance between learning and hobbies, the path exploration of innovation and entrepreneurship, and the key points of resume making. In response to the job search questions that the students were concerned about, Mr. Yi Tianxin shared his job search experience based on his work experience in the Port of Singapore Authority, introduced the current trends of the international job market, and gave practical suggestions on resume optimization and interview skills, providing valuable career planning guidance for the students.
This sharing session not only gave students a clearer plan for their university life, but also enhanced their confidence in their future career development. I believe that under the guidance of excellent role models, students will be able to work hard, bravely climb the peak, and write their own chapter of youth!
