On the afternoon of February 26, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held the final of the "Who is the Speaker" keynote speech contest in the lecture hall of the library. The theme of this competition is "In the Name of Youth, Go to the Appointment of the Times". College counselors and members of the school presiding team participated in the review, seven contestants participated in the competition, and more than 100 spectators watched the competition.
The "Who is the Speaker" Keynote Speech Contest is divided into three stages: preliminary, semi-final, and final. After the launch of the activity, more than 30 students signed up for the competition, and after fierce competition in the preliminary round and semi-final, 7 players finally entered the finals. During the finals, with a deep understanding and enthusiasm for youth, the contestants conveyed their unique views on youth to every audience present with sincere emotions and sonorous voices. The speeches of the contestants are like vivid pictures, bringing us into the youth of countless revolutionary martyrs, the struggle of scientists, and the stories of youth in contemporary society with silent dedication and no regrets. After listening to the impassioned and heartfelt speeches of the contestants, the freshmen of the class of 2024 also expressed their views and longings for youth.
In addition to the judges, the audience is also invited to participate in the voting as public judges. After the strict evaluation of the judges and the fair voting of the audience, in the end, Xiong Mingcan, a student from the safety 221 class, won the first place with his outstanding performance; Zhao Ziru, a student from the safety 231 class, won the second place and won the crown of the best popularity award. Cao Yixin, a student from the 233 class of Hong Kong Airlines, won the third place.
This keynote speech contest not only provides a valuable platform for the contestants to show themselves and exercise their abilities, but also a meeting and collision of ideas, an affectionate declaration and warm praise of youth, which stimulates the students' thinking and perception of youth, and inspires them to pursue their dreams bravely and make unremitting efforts.
