Recently, the College of Marine Science and Engineering invited the first batch of national outstanding young talents, Professor Deng Lu from the School of Civil Engineering of Hunan University, to do the National Natural Science Foundation project application guidance lecture. Feng Daolun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the College, attended the report, which was presided over by Guo Jiamin, vice president of the college.
President Feng Daolun first welcomed Professor Deng Lu, pointing out that this tutoring activity is an important part of the series of scientific research assistance measures jointly organized by the Science and Technology Division and the Academy of Marine Sciences. It is not only the continuation and deepening of the first two activities, but also the vivid embodiment of the continuous exploration, learning and innovation of the scientific research work of the college. Subsequently, the College will continue to launch a series of related counseling activities to promote the scientific research work of the college to a new level.
In addition, President Feng Daolun also stressed that the school has always attached great importance to the application of National Natural Science Foundation projects, and expects to provide teachers with very targeted guidance and help with this online fund special guidance report to help teachers optimize the project application plan and improve the quality of application. We will work together to achieve excellent results in the application of National Natural Science Foundation projects in 2025.
Professor Deng Lu's lecture focused on three aspects: the project evaluation process, suggestions on application writing, and issues and suggestions that need attention. First of all, the lecture analyzed the review process of the fund project in detail, including the initial review, expert letter evaluation, meeting review and other links, to help applicants understand the review mechanism and improve the success rate of application. Secondly, for the writing of the fund application, Professor Deng provided specific suggestions, such as concise scientific problems, research content design, feasibility analysis of technical routes and prominent expression of innovation points, emphasizing the importance of rigorous logic and clear expression. Finally, the lecture also summarized the common mistakes in the application process, and gave optimization suggestions to remind applicants to avoid low-level mistakes and enhance competitiveness. The report provides practical guidance for researchers to help improve the quality of fund declarations.
