In order to help freshmen make a smooth study connection from high school to university and solve the practical difficulties encountered by freshmen in the course, on December 11, 2024, the College of Marine Science and Engineering held the second Haike Help, Advanced Math Class activity in the conference Room 410 of the College building. Sophomore students Hu Xuezhe, Du Guangwei and Yin Jingtong were invited as student lecturers to explain and answer questions about advanced mathematics courses for junior students.

Before this question-and-answer activity, the outstanding students of the sophomore grade actively prepared, relying on their solid knowledge foundation of higher mathematics and rich learning experience, carefully planned the question-and-answer assistance program. In the process of answering questions, the seniors not only simply gave answers, but also paid more attention to guiding freshman students to grasp the correct problem-solving ideas and learning methods. They also shared learning skills such as how to take good class notes, how to review after class, and how to consolidate knowledge points through a lot of exercises. First-year students benefit a lot from this hands-on approach. With the help of senior students, many students who were afraid of higher mathematics have gradually built up their confidence in learning, and their understanding and mastery of higher mathematics have also been significantly improved.

This question-answering activity not only promoted the learning progress of freshmen students, but also strengthened the communication and interaction between students of different grades. Through the mutual learning mode of upperclassmen and underclassmen, it achieved the guidance of outstanding students, stimulated the learning drive, promoted knowledge sharing and common progress, and effectively promoted the learning atmosphere of pursuing excellence and excellence in the College of Marine Science and Engineering.
