On Friday, November 29th, the Science Popularization + Moral Education integrated practice education activity organized by the Youth League Committee of the College of Marine Science and Engineering was held as scheduled, and the students of Lingang Jianping Primary School listened to the theme of harmonious coexistence of human and nature, protection of Marine ecological environment popular science lecture, and carried out manual experience on the theme of Marine environmental protection.
In the seminar room of COSCO Library, the students sat around the table in small groups and listened carefully to the theme lecture of Make the Earth Better, make the ocean Cleaner by Mr. Zhu Wenwu from the Department of Marine Environment of the College. Mr. Zhu introduced the relevant knowledge of Marine ecological environment protection to the students, and talked about the impact of global warming on the Marine environment, the harm caused by Marine oil pollution, and the ecological impact of nuclear wastewater. The combination of pictures and illustrations made the students fully feel the severe problems facing the Marine ecological environment and stimulated the students' desire to explore. The students also actively interacted with Mr. Zhu in the audience, Teacher, teacher, I have seen seagulls with feathers covered in oil, I have seen polar bears on the Internet standing on a piece of ice, the news said that Japan is discharging nuclear waste water. Whenever Mr. Zhu asked questions, the students were scrambling to raise their hands, and even began to answer. The students all listened attentively. Teacher Zhu called on everyone to start from the small things around, protect the blue home, further improve the quality of Marine science and Marine awareness, protect the ocean, protect the ecology, is a common agreement of all of us.
Afterwards, the college volunteers led the children to participate in a unique creative journey. Big friends, children give full play to their imagination, with clay as the main material, one by one incarnated as a small designer, dexterous and magical, the hands were born a lovely small octopus, a root of floating water grass, a different reef... In the process of creation, the children incorporated their understanding of the sea and their perception of life into their works, expressing their aspirations. Finally, the students shared their creative ideas with each other, and also had a stronger awareness of protecting the Marine ecological environment.
Through this rich and meaningful course, students understand the importance of protecting the Marine ecological environment. Even if you never get a chance to see or feel the ocean in person, it still affects you as you breathe. The oceans give birth to life, and if you don't think the oceans are important, imagine an Earth without them. Like Mars, life will have nothing to rely on. Let's protect the Marine environment!
