Lead the way in learning, accompanied by growth -- Construction activities of the School of Ocean Science and Engineering

  In order to deepen freshmen's understanding of their major, enlighten their professional consciousness, stimulate their initial intention to the sea, and cultivate their professional recognition, the College of Marine Science and Engineering carries out the professional cognition education for freshmen by relying on the dialogue salon between teachers and students of Learning Path Leader, Growth Companion.

  During the salon, teachers of various majors communicated with freshmen face to face and introduced in detail to freshmen important issues of concern such as history of major setup and development, major connotation and characteristics, major learning content and major employment direction. They also introduced the current status of major development and the employment and further study of graduates in recent years in a simple and logical way. The new students have a deeper understanding of the significance and value of their major and employment industry. In addition, each major actively plays the peer effect, inviting outstanding alumni and senior students to participate, using their own learning and employment experiences to vividly show the growth path of students in each major, so that freshmen have a clear understanding of their own academic planning and employment development.

  The series of activities of Learning path Leader, Growth Companion aims to smooth the communication bridge between teachers and students and enhance the professional recognition of undergraduates. The teacher-student salon makes the freshmen further understand the significance of the professional service for the construction of Marine power and the broad prospect of professional development, and improves the students' recognition and sense of honor for the major.
