On the afternoon of September 11, the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a faculty meeting for the new semester. School leaders attended, all faculty attended.
At the meeting, Secretary Wang Weiyi and President Feng Daolun conveyed the spirit of the meeting of Party and government cadres in Shanghai Universities in the autumn of 2024 and the meeting of middle level cadres in schools.
Strict assessment of teachers' ethics, establish and improve the assessment mechanism of teachers' ethics, and take the performance of teachers' ethics as an important basis for the evaluation and promotion of teacher titles.Strictly implement the requirements for comprehensively and strictly governing the Party, integrate Party discipline education into daily life, earnestly implement the Party's educational principles and policies, strengthen daily supervision and management of teachers, and ensure that the Party's policies and guidelines are implemented in education and teaching;Strengthen supervision and feedback, encourage teachers and students to report problems, promptly deal with complaints and suggestions on teacher ethics, and ensure the transparency and fairness of the implementation of the system.Through various measures to further improve the overall quality of teachers, create a good learning environment for students, while ensuring the full implementation of the Party's educational principles and policies.
Secretary Wang Weiyi pointed out that as college educators, we must carry forward the spirit of educators and shape life with life; We must focus on the national strategy, focus on the main responsibility and business, and enhance the service and contribution of the college; We must raise our spirits, work with one heart and one mind, take on our responsibilities, and earnestly implement all current and future tasks.
President Feng Daolun comprehensively summarized the achievements of the School in the 2023-2024 academic year in the construction of faculty, scientific research innovation, discipline construction, classroom teaching and other aspects, and analyzed the situation and challenges facing the development of the school from the perspective of teaching and scientific research tasks. He pointed out that educators should use science to feed education, do basic research, real research, front-end research, closed-loop research, and actively understand the real needs of the industry. Scientific research work should start from practical problems, refine scientific problems for research, and use new knowledge to solve problems. Feng Daolun emphasized the three stages of the new round of undergraduate education teaching audit and evaluation and its importance, and asked the faculty to prepare for the evaluation, continue to strictly control the quality of teaching, continue to strengthen laboratory construction and safety work, and do a good job of the audit and evaluation.
At the same time, President Feng Daolun summarized and deployed the military industry project and confidentiality work of the college. Earnestly shoulder the major political responsibility of safeguarding the security of Party and state secrets, and make every effort to create a safe and stable environment. Teachers of the college must do a good job of confidentiality while actively applying for projects, and make new contributions to promoting the healthy development of the college.
