In order to further enhance the enthusiasm of students to participate in community activities and stimulate the social responsibility of young people in the new era, on May 15, 2024, the Party branch of Environmental Students of the College of Marine Science and Engineering and the League branch of Environment Class 221 jointly carried out the volunteer service activity of Youth Build Dreams and Community Peers with Lingang Homeland Neighborhood Committee.

In order to firmly establish the awareness of environmental hygiene, transmit civilized life, and make unremitting efforts to help create a clean and civilized urban environment, so as to promote positive energy and show the main theme of society. At the activity site, the volunteers had a clear division of labor and efficient action. Through the garbage classification knowledge exhibition board, the Marine environmental protection brochure and the convenient service information desk, they used an intuitive and vivid form to convey the concept of environmental protection to the residents, popularize the knowledge of garbage classification, and guide everyone to actively participate in the community environmental protection.

Community residents said that by participating in the activities, they not only increased their knowledge of environmental protection, but also felt the warmth and strength of the community family. The volunteers put the civilized spirit into practice, passed on good behavior with the fire of youthful enthusiasm, and raised the residents' awareness of environmental protection and health.

The league branch of Environmental Class 221 said that the activity was not only an opportunity to publicize the concept of environmental protection, but also a practice to exercise team cooperation and improve service ability. The students will continue to play a pioneering role, actively participate in community construction and service work, and contribute their youth to the construction of a harmonious community.
