On the afternoon of March 28, the College held a lecture entitled Experience Sharing and Learning Suggestions on Domestic and foreign water transport projects. Shang Meitao, director of the Water Transport Engineering Design and Research Institute of CCCC Shanghai Harbour Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. gave a lecture, sharing his nearly 20 years of port engineering design experience.
Taking typical water transport design projects at home and abroad as the starting point, Shang Meitao introduced the whole process of the project from planning to implementation in detail. Through comparative analysis of the similarities and differences of project management at home and abroad, she elaborated the strategies and methods on how to efficiently promote the project process and ensure the project quality under different cultural backgrounds. He stressed that as an excellent engineer, we should not only pay attention to solid professional knowledge and skills, but also have the ability to continue learning. At the same time, he also encouraged students to dare to challenge themselves, constantly broaden their horizons, and actively participate in practice to improve their comprehensive quality and competitiveness.
In the interactive session, the students actively asked questions, and still answered them patiently. The atmosphere was warm and harmonious. The students said that the lecture gave them a deeper understanding of the field of water transport engineering, and also provided valuable guidance and advice for their future career development.
This lecture is one of the series of activities carefully planned by the College of Marine Science and Engineering in order to strengthen academic exchanges and broaden students' horizons. In the future, more industry experts will continue to be invited to the school to exchange and share, and provide more learning opportunities and platforms for teachers and students.
