Recently, the College of Ocean Science and Engineering held the first Sailing Road academic experience exchange and sharing meeting. Three seniors, Li Qingming, Jiang Bochen and Wang Jie, were invited to share their academic research experience with the first-year students from their own experience.

Li Qingming pointed out that in academic research, students should combine their personal interests with their professional background and pay attention to the frontier and hot issues of the discipline. At the same time, he stressed the importance of communicating with tutors and reminded students to fully consider practical conditions and resource constraints. During the research process, keeping an open mind, constantly learning and accumulating knowledge is the key to success.

Jiang Bochen shared the study life of doctoral students, and he especially emphasized the importance of combining work and rest. He advised students to arrange their study and life in a reasonable way and maintain physical and mental health. For those who are still in doubt about whether to choose a PhD, his advice is to make the decision as early as possible and plan their research goals and plans as early as possible.

Senior Wang Jie shared his experience in the search and selection of journals. He pointed out that when submitting papers, attention should be paid to the reception time and deadline of the journal to avoid missing the best time for publication. In addition, he also stressed the importance of the introduction part of the paper writing, a good introduction can attract the reader's attention and lay a solid foundation for the paper.

This academic experience exchange and sharing meeting not only provides a formal platform for the first-year students to share their experiences and exchange academic experiences with their seniors, so that they can adapt to the life of graduate students more quickly, improve their learning efficiency, so that students can have an in-depth understanding of the actual situation of academic research, but also gain valuable experience and advice.
