On December 18, 2023, Professor Fan Runhua of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering held a regular discussion on the work of the undergraduate Science and Innovation tutor group and science and innovation team in December. Professor Fan Runhua presided over and delivered a speech, encouraging undergraduate science and innovation teams to base on professional characteristics and go to the sea to inject impetus into the development of the discipline.
At the meeting, the undergraduate science and innovation team shared the stage progress, experience and confusion of the current research work, and the science and innovation advisor commented on the work progress of the undergraduate science and innovation team and patiently answered the puzzles raised by the students. The instructor introduced the advantages of the university to the students, encouraged the students to study in the field of port and shipping, understand the industry and employment needs, and participate in the competition in related fields based on the results.
The meeting atmosphere was relaxed and warm, and the discussion was aimed at building a bridge of communication between teachers and students, enhancing students' professional identity, enhancing students' awareness of going to the sea, giving full play to students' autonomy in participating in scientific research activities and building mission confidence.
