On November 29, the College of Ocean Science and Engineering carried out the "inheritance of Wusong Spirit, firm blue faith" school history education in 3C101, Captain Bai Xiangen, winner of the Chinese May Fourth Youth Medal, made a special lecture on "Navigation, the initial dream - the journey of the new era of young people's maritime power" for grade 23 students, presided over by Dong Chaoqun, deputy secretary of the College Party Committee.
Starting from her personal growth background, Captain Bai Xiangen shared the inspiration of her family environment to her sailing dream, and expressed her gratitude to the school for providing a sailing platform. She deeply passed on the concept of love and honor to the school, and encouraged the new students to not only improve their professional skills in the future study career, but also contribute to the brilliance of the Alma mater. In the special lecture, Captain Bai vividly shared his experience of three polar voyages and deeply explained the importance of practice, persistence and teamwork. She uses vivid language to outline the difficulties and challenges faced in the voyage, so that students can deeply feel the heavy and difficult career of navigation. Captain Bai inspired the students to carry forward the spirit of innovation and challenge through his personal experience, and encouraged them to dare to face difficulties and meet challenges in their future studies and life. Finally, Captain Bai combined the spirit of the Party's 20 and the motto of the Maritime University, and sent a message to the students to inherit the spirit of Wusong in the context of the new era, work hard to learn professional knowledge, improve comprehensive literacy, further strengthen the blue faith, and become the leader of the Marine cause.
Secretary Dong Chaoqun hopes that the students will be firm in their professional confidence, cultivate blue feelings, and not forget their original intentions on the way to pursue their dreams, full of confidence and courage, and work hard to realize a maritime power and achieve a brilliant future.
