In 2023, Shanghai Graduate Academic Forum on "Marine and Coastal City Safety" will be held on campus

On November 25, 2023, sponsored by Shanghai Academic Degrees Committee and jointly sponsored by the Graduate School of the University, the College of Ocean Science and Engineering and the Library, the 2023 Graduate Academic Forum on Marine and Coastal City Safety was held in the University. Graduate School, College of Ocean Science and Engineering and faculty representatives attended.


This forum invited Professor Qin Hongde from Harbin Engineering University, Professor Gao Guangfa from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Professor Liu Changjun from East China University of Science and Technology and Professor Chen Weijiong from Shanghai Maritime University to give keynote reports on the forefront directions of intelligent equipment technology for underwater emergency rescue, impact resistance and protection technology of hull structure, safety of pressure structure and maritime safety culture. And with the on-site teachers and students to carry out heated discussions and exchanges.


The forum received a total of 83 papers submitted by postgraduates from Tongji University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai University of Applied Technology and other universities and institutions, covering safety science and engineering, Marine safety, transportation safety, logistics supply chain security and other research fields. The forum selected nearly 50 papers, which were reported and exchanged by representatives of the authors.


In the four sub-venues, the participating graduate students respectively made exchanges and speeches on the topics of Marine safety system engineering theory and method, coastal city disaster prevention and control technology, new development of Marine and coastal city emergency management, and new technologies of Marine and coastal city smart safety. The forum finally selected 4 first prizes, 12 second prizes and 16 third prizes for excellent papers.


Representatives of graduate students participating in the sub-conference said that the forum has built a professional and practical academic exchange platform, enhanced the exchange of academic achievements, broadened the academic horizon, improved the enthusiasm for scientific research, and helped to learn from each other in the academic collision.
