In order to improve students' academic paper writing ability and stimulate their enthusiasm for academic research, the University Library (Archives) and Technology and Innovation Support Center hold a series of lectures on the theme of "Scientific Research Methods and academic paper Writing". On the afternoon of November 29, Mr. Sun Kai, associate professor/doctoral supervisor of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering and secretary of the Party Branch of the Graduate Students of Marine Materials, was invited to the lecture Hall B107 of the Library and gave a report and exchange lecture on the theme of "Making Good use of 'Learning Thinking and Practicing Enlightenment' and writing good academic papers". This lecture is hosted by the Library (Archives) and the Technology and Innovation Support Center, and is open to all teachers and students.
At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Sun Kai was introduced by the methodology of "learning thinking and practicing enlightenment", and combined with his own experience in study and work, he stressed the importance of academic integrity and research visualization. He shared with you the "1" and "0" in the academic paper, pointing out that the premise of writing a good academic paper is to ensure the authenticity of the data, but also to record the entire experimental process, long-term retention of experimental samples, and permanent preservation of the original data. Then, Teacher Sun Kai and the students combined video, pictures and other elements and integrated the thinking of life and study, introduced "what is an academic paper", "Why to write a paper", "how to write a good paper", and explained the main structure of academic papers and dissertations in detail, and interpreted the connotation and basic requirements of each part. In combination with specific writing cases, Teacher Sun Kai shared the notes and writing skills in writing the paper title, abstract, key words, preface, chart formula and references. Then, Mr. Sun Kai taught the students the experience of paper submission and revision, and shared with them the encouragement to "find the right position, vote for their good, and strive for excellence" in the paper submission process, and "have a correct attitude, reasonable evidence, neither humble nor arrogant" in the process of paper revision. Finally, Mr. Sun Kai urged the students to focus on their learning goals, make good use of the magic weapon of "learning thinking and practicing enlightenment", and be thoughtful and knowledgeable people in learning and scientific research.
This lecture has a clear theme, rich content, edutainment and fun. With his solid theoretical foundation and rich writing experience, Mr. Sun Kai gave the students a lecture with both breadth and depth, which stimulated their interest in academic paper writing and encouraged them to continue to advance and explore on the road of academic paper writing.
