A good book consoles the soul, a classic nourishes youth, so that reading is integrated into life, so that life is enriched. Recently, the Youth League Committee of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering held the first season of "Listening to the sea and Enjoying reading" theme reading sharing and exchange meeting, inviting outstanding young teachers and students to read together, read life and read the world, and go to a spiritual covenant.
Mr. Yu Qiang, an outstanding young teacher of the Department of Shipping and Marine Engineering, recommended to young students "the Silk Road" by Peter Francopan, a top scholar of Oxford University. With the theme of The Spirit of the Silk Road and the Belt and Road Initiative shared with the young students of Class 231, they had an in-depth reading exchange, and reflected the future with history and reality, so that the students had a clear understanding of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Teacher Gong Jiaye recommended the famous military theorist and critic Zhang Zhaozhong's masterpiece 100 Years of Aircraft Carrier. He took young students together to "see China's rise through 100 years of aircraft carrier", witnessing that the baton of maritime power in the new era is being handed over to young people. He not only vividly explained the professional knowledge of aircraft carrier to the new students of Class 232. It broadens the professional vision of young ship people and strengthens their professional confidence and future mission.
Pinghuan teacher recommended an old book he often read, Edgar Snow "Red Star over China", this book of enlightenment into the Party, witnessing the original mission of red China. In combination with the revolutionary history of the Communist Party of China's hard struggle, Mr. Ping and the backbone of the league school to exchange the original intention and mission, each generation has a long March, the new era has given young people a new mission, only by keeping in mind the original intention of the mission, in order to overcome challenges, stable and long-term.
The theme reading sharing salon of "Listening to the Sea and enjoying reading" is an interactive reading project between teachers and students launched by the Youth League Committee of the college, inviting excellent teachers and students to share a good book together, driving the style of learning through the teacher's style, and using a good book to narrow the relationship between teachers and students, rich and enjoyable reading atmosphere, so that the book is filled with the campus.
