On October 21, 2023, when the alumni returned to school day, the Youth League Committee of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering invited representatives of the college's youth mentors to return to school, focus on university career and career development planning, communicate with young students face to face, and answer questions for young students. The salon was presided over by He Haibo, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the College.
Zheng Xiaobo, deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of China Maritime Museum and a 2007 alumnus, and Ma Wenguang, a 2009 alumnus of COSCO Shipping Container Transportation Co., LTD., shared their valuable experiences with students on topics such as their study experience, career planning and employment options. Li Minmin, deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Equipment Co., LTD., combined with the enterprise's employment standards and his own study experience, provided a lot of suggestions for students in handling the time arrangement, coordinating the relationship between work and study, and improving personal career ability. The three young mentors all agreed that they should cherish the time in college, live a good life every day, be firm in their professional confidence, persevere in the pursuit of excellence, and walk out of their own unique life journey.
The young students seized the precious opportunity to actively exchange and discuss with the young mentors, and had more intuitive understanding of the industry, more thinking about university life, and more clear their own development direction.
