Time flies, the song never stops. On October 21, 2023, the faculty and students of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering gathered together to warm the campus memories and renew the friendship between teachers and students.
At 10 am, the College alumni welcome meeting was held in Room 408 of Haike Building. Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Feng Daolun, president of the College, and Dong Chaoqun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, attended the symposium. Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, gave a welcoming speech, expressing warm welcome and thanks to the alumni who came to attend the symposium, hoping that everyone can open their hearts, speak freely and contribute ideas for the development of the Alma mater. Wang Weiyi reviewed the development course of the college in recent years and introduced the development and achievements of the college in personnel training, discipline construction and scientific research in recent years. He said that alumni are the builders and supporters of the Alma mater, and it is necessary to give full play to the effect of alumni education and jointly contribute to the growth and development of the college. Alumni from various majors actively spoke, reviewed their study experience in the Alma mater, and expressed sincere gratitude to the college and teachers who trained them. The atmosphere was warm and touching, brimming with strong feelings of sea science. At the meeting, Secretary Wang and Dean Feng wore the school emblem for the alumni and presented the alumni enrollment information registration card as a souvenir.
Subsequently, the five majors of safety, materials, shipping, port and shipping, and environment respectively held the Youth Return, Common growth alumni salon. Focusing on the topics of study experience, career planning, and employment choice, the outstanding alumni shared their valuable experience with the students, encouraging them to cherish their university time, persevere in the pursuit of excellence, and embark on their own unique life journey. Students of all majors actively and actively carried out warm exchanges and discussions with alumni, and had more thoughts on university life and clearer their own development direction.
