On the afternoon of September 27, the College of Ocean Science and Engineering summarized and analyzed the application results of the National Natural Science Foundation in 2023, and deployed the application work in 2024. More than 30 teachers from the college attended the meeting through a combination of online and offline methods. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Guo Jiamin.
Feng Daolun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the school, informed the total number of applications and approval of the school in 2023, analyzed the shortcomings, pointed out the direction of efforts, and mobilized all teachers who met the application conditions to actively apply for the National Natural Science Fund project in 2024.
Professor Fan Runhua, chairman of the Academic Committee of the School, guided the concise scientific problems in the fund projects in simple language, combined with his own project application experience, and pointed out that thinking, combing and summarizing frequently in peacetime is the key to success.
In order to accurately grasp the trend of research hotspots, improve the quality and level of project application, support the project application of teachers of the college, and truly achieve three checks, two thoughts, and one advance, Vice President Guo Jiamin arranged the application work of the National Natural Science Foundation in 2024, and clarified the time node requirements of various specific work such as special guidance and application writing guidance.
The meeting invited Yuan Yuan, Chao Zhiming, Yuan Rui, Shi Jianhong and other four 2023 fund winners to share their experience in how to combine the characteristics of the school to choose the topic, write the application, and accumulate the research foundation.
