In order to enable students to adapt to the new learning and living environment as soon as possible and realize the role transformation from undergraduate to graduate, on the afternoon of September 27, the College of Ocean Science and Engineering launched a series of admission education for 2023 graduate students, with instructor Xu Jie giving a lecture and all 2023 graduate students in the college attending.
The entrance education is divided into four links: love school honor school education, confidentiality education, integrity education and safety education. First of all, in the Love School and Honor School education, Teacher Xu Jie told the students about the school history and culture, and emphasized and explained the profound connotation of the school motto loyalty and respect, so that the students had a deeper understanding of the school's development process and the connotation of the school motto, and provided tips on campus life to help students better and faster integrate into the new campus life. Secondly, in the confidentiality education, Teacher Xu Jie stressed that students should improve their national awareness and national security awareness, pay special attention to the confidentiality period of state secrets, and the content of serious violations. As young people in the new era, they should consciously shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding national security and keeping state secrets, and establish a sense of risk. The following is integrity education, Teacher Xu stressed that as a graduate student must strictly abide by the requirements of academic integrity, correctly cite others' research results, and avoid academic misconduct; At the same time, we should also pay attention to the integrity of the scholarship. Finally, in the safety education link, the instructor explained from four aspects: life safety, dormitory safety, laboratory safety and network security.
In addition, Ms. Xu gave a brief introduction to the work departments and main responsibilities of the Graduate Student Association of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering, and encouraged students to sign up and contribute to the work of the College. At the end of the activity, the counselor led the students to carry out the ice-breaking activity, the students actively participated, and the scene atmosphere was cheerful and warm.
This month's series of entrance education for new graduate students also includes the first class, enlightenment education for joining the Party, and postgraduate manual examination. Through the series of admission education activities for new students this month, we will help new students to have a comprehensive understanding of graduate education management, and lay a good foundation for students to establish clear life goals and further improve their own abilities.
