The College of Ocean Science and Engineering makes full use of the summer teaching week to carry out students' practical teaching activities. The Department of Marine Materials carries out different forms of practical teaching activities for students of different grades, such as: for sophomores and juniors, scientific innovation training practice; For first-year students, they will visit several units in the materials industry in Lingang area to improve their professional cognition, and carry out professional practice and cognitive management teaching.


On June 26, the Department of Marine Materials invited engineers Qu Shaoyi and Xu Haijuan from Shanghai Yike Polymer Technology Co., Ltd. to give a lecture in our school. The company is headquartered in Shanghai Zhangjiang Modern Medical Equipment Park, and has set up a 2000 square meter technology research and development center in Lingang new area, has 1,500 square meters in Shanghai Zhangjiang and 7,000 square meters in Taizhou, Zhejiang, 10,000 purification plants, and has set up branches in Suzhou and San Francisco, North America. The company focuses on the development and production of medical catheter consumables and membrane materials in the fields of medical devices and biopharmaceuticals, providing professional product solutions for global customers. Through the introduction, the students had a preliminary understanding of the company's products and processes, and then went to the research and development center located in Lingang Langu Science Park, visited the company's membrane materials and medical catheter research and development center.


On the morning of June 28, the Department of Marine Materials organized students to visit Shanghai Tangfeng Energy Technology Co., LTD., located in the new film District of Lingang. The company is a high-tech company with the key technologies of hydrogen new energy utilization, and has a full set of core technologies such as fuel cell and electrolytic cell heart membrane electrode design, materials, processes, equipment, testing and evaluation. The students intuitively understood the hydrogen fuel cell membrane electrode production line through the special report Fuel cell membrane electrode, Stack, System Introduction by Wang Yixin, Vice president of the company's technical director, and achieved a good interactive learning effect.


On the afternoon of June 28, the students of the Department of Marine Materials visited the Shanghai Intelligent Manufacturing R&D and transformation functional platform located in the International Innovation Collaborative Zone of Lingang New Area. The platform was jointly initiated by Lingang New Area Management Committee, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Lingang Group, Shanghai Electric, Shanghai Institute of Technology and other units, and is one of the first functional platforms approved for construction in Shanghai. Through the visit, students learned about the development process of the platform and examples of the transformation of the platform industry.


This internship enriched the students' knowledge, broadened their horizons, and made the students have a further understanding of materials science and engineering and related majors.
