"On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, it's the Dragon Boat Festival, and we eat zongzi..." As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, to let young students feel the charm of excellent traditional culture and experience the joy of labor, on the afternoon of June 19, the Qingmeng Workshop of the College of Marine Science and Engineering held a labor education activity themed "Strengthen Cultural Confidence and 'Zong' Enjoy the Dragon Boat Festival", which students actively participated in.

Before the activity started, the aunts had prepared the ingredients for making zongzi in advance, such as bamboo leaves, glutinous rice and candied dates. Then, the canteen aunts explained to the students a series of processes and skills of making zongzi, including folding bamboo leaves, filling with glutinous rice, adding fillings and wrapping with strings. Under the aunts' hands-on on-site teaching, everyone couldn't wait to try making zongzi. They all put their hearts into it and were eager to have a go, and the students guided and learned from each other.

The students chatted and laughed while making zongzi, experiencing the charm and joy of traditional customs together, creating a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere at the scene. Soon, variously shaped zongzi were made one after another. After a short break, the students received the cooked zongzi and tasted the ones they had made by themselves. Everyone had a satisfied smile on their faces, and the collective zongzi-making activity of the College of Marine Science came to a successful end.

This zongzi-making activity allowed students to experience the joy of labor through participation and interaction, further enhancing the centripetal force and cohesion of the College of Marine Science, and deeply feeling the profound heritage and infinite charm of China's excellent traditional culture.
