On the morning of June 6, the College of Ocean Science and Engineering held a grand graduation ceremony and degree conferment ceremony for the class of 2023 students. Wang Weiyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Feng Daolun, Deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president, Liu Jiahao, Guo Jiamin, vice president of the college, and representatives of department heads and professors of the five majors of the college attended the ceremony, which was attended by more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students. The graduation ceremony was presided over by Dong Chaoqun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College.
The solemn national anthem opened the ceremony. Wang Weiyi, secretary of the Party Committee of the College, read out the recognition list of the 2023 Shanghai Outstanding Graduates and 2023 Shanghai Maritime University Outstanding graduates, and the college leaders issued certificates to the winning student representatives.
Dean Feng Daolun with Dare to break new road, learn new knowledge, with a hot heart to pursue dreams as the title, encouraged graduates to always maintain a perseverance to learn, explore patience, loyalty, dedication of love, with the toughness and perseverance of Haike graduates, with a hot heart to face, with their own talent to perfect the imperfect world, open up a new world of career.
Yue Shenghao, an environmental engineering major, spoke as a representative of the undergraduate graduates. He looked back on the wonderful four years of campus life at Hai University and appreciated the hard work of the teachers, which allowed him to achieve a better self. Zhang Fangcong, majoring in materials and chemical engineering, made a speech as a representative of the graduate students, thanking the school for its training to enrich his research journey, looking forward to the future, with great aspirations, and will surely write a brilliant future of his own.
In the Thank you section, the most popular teachers selected by each major took the stage to accept the flowers presented by the graduate representative. Associate Professor Wang Kan of the Department of Safety Engineering, as a representative of the teachers, sent the most sincere wishes and ardent expectations to the graduates, hoping that the graduates will persist in learning and exercise, constantly improve their self-value, enhance their self-cultivation, have great dreams, invest in the great construction of socialism, and create their own world belonging to Haike people.
Finally, the teachers for the class of 2023 graduates one by one, I hope that graduates open the wings of flying, chasing ideals, happy OARS, brave to the road to success! Continue to show the light of humanity of love, sincerity and tolerance.

The graduation signature wall was set up outside the graduation ceremony for the graduates to leave the best memory and the most sincere wishes for the graduates.
After the ceremony, a gala with the theme of The Great Wave was also held, which was jointly performed by graduates, counselors and students to express their attachment to their Alma mater and youth.
