Let every person of Shanghai Maritime University eat at ease, from each small bowl of rice to start. It has always been the goal of Canteen of Shanghai Maritime University to boil small rice grains into big delicious food. In order to let students further understand the production details of the most consumed items in Haida daily and improve the transparency of canteen work, on May 15, 2023, the Youth League Committee of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering and the Catering Management Section of Logistics Center jointly organized student representatives to walk into the rice production line as kitchen experience officers and experience the production process of Haida rice completely.
Under the guidance of the canteen staff, the kitchen experience officers entered the studio of the rice production line. The rice production line of Shanghai Maritime University was officially put into production at the end of 2017, and achieved full supply production at the beginning of 2018. This production line is composed of rice silo system, rice washing device, centralized soaking and filling system, cooked rice braised rice system, non-power braised rice track, flipping raking system and rice cooker cleaning system. During the visit, the staff mentioned that relying on the automatic rice production line, only five workers can cook the rice needed by more than 20,000 people in the whole process from rice washing to cooking, which greatly improves the cooking efficiency. During this period, the person in charge seriously answered all kinds of doubts of the experience officers, and said that the students are very welcome to visit, I hope you can give more valuable advice, the canteen will actively adopt and constantly optimize, and strive to provide students with better quality and more delicious meals.
