May 13, 2023 14: Taking advantage of the good opportunity of campus Open Day, College of Ocean Science and Engineering held Listen to Sea Science, Listen to Sea Sound alumni Youth Salon in 408 of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering Building. The alumni salon invited Zhang Nianchu (Safety Engineering class 2013), Fan Jun and Sun Xiang (Materials Science and Engineering class 2010), Four alumni from different majors exchanged with freshmen and sophomores. He Haibo, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the College, and Xu Ling, counselor, presided over the exchange.
The salon was held in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Students raised various questions and doubts that they encountered in college life to the alumni, and the alumni also answered one by one with their own experiences. In the face of students' hesitation and confusion about career planning, Zhang Nianchu and Song Yifei said that students should first learn their professional knowledge firmly, and at the same time, they should not limit their future development to a certain industry. Instead, they should make the best use of their precious college time, participate in various academic and practical activities, and gradually explore their own abilities and strengths. A more comprehensive understanding of self, can make a suitable choice for their own. The alumni of Sun Xiang and Fan Jun sincerely exchanged with the students about the topic related to mental ability. The two alumni talked about the hope that the students can exercise their resilience and master such a ability, no matter what bottleneck or difficulty they encounter in life, they are more likely to get through smoothly.
Listen to the Sea Science, Listen to the Sound of the Sea Alumni Youth Salon focuses on the full dialogue between alumni and students. In the happy exchange, the students have learned a lot. Many students have solved their confusion, opened their minds, and made their future goals clearer. This salon activity further strengthens the connection between alumni and Alma mater, strengthens the sense of identity and belonging of alumni, and promotes the integration between Alma mater and alumni, and between alumni and alumni.
