On May 11th, Professor Yin Zhenyu from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University came to our college for academic exchange. Professor Shi Danda, head of the Port and Ocean Engineering structural Safety and Disaster Prevention research team, and team members Professor Wang Xiaohui, Professor Shao Wei, Associate Professor Chao Zhiming, young teacher Zhang Wenbing and other members participated in the exchange.
Professor Yin Zhenyu gave a wonderful talk entitled Bucket Foundation in Sand: From Numerical Simulation to macro Unit Design Tool. The teachers and students had a wide range of discussions and exchanges with Professor Yin Zhenyu on the constitutive development and simulation of bucket foundation. After the meeting, accompanied by Prof. Wang Xiaohui and Prof. Shao Wei, the participants visited Yangshan Deep-water Port together.
In recent years, with the rapid development of new energy of offshore fan, the deformation of offshore fan foundation has been widely concerned. The port and ocean engineering structure safety and disaster prevention research team of our institute closely follows the scientific frontier, and carries out a lot of research work around Marine geotechnical engineering problems. The team developed the rapid treatment technology of large area soft ground in the port land area, which has been applied in Shanghai Yangshan Port Phase I project and Shanghai Luojing Port Phase II project. The results won the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress. In addition, the high water content dredging mud-curing agent mixed blowing and filling technology was put forward, and related equipment was developed and applied in the East silting promotion project of Hengsha in Shanghai, etc., which produced remarkable economic benefits and won the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.
