In order to help the class of 2022 freshmen clear their major direction and learning focus, enhance their professional identity and pride. On December 2, 2022, at 8:40 am, the Naval architecture and Ocean Engineering major of the College of Ocean Science and Engineering launched the freshman professional cognition education. Mr. Xiong Zhixin, Dean of the Department, Mr. Wu Gongxing, Deputy Dean of the Department, and Professor Li Yunbo gave a lecture. Mr. Lei Mengyu, instructor, and all the freshmen of Class 2022 of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering attended the meeting.
First of all, Mr. Xiong Zhixin introduced the general situation of shipbuilding and ocean engineering, its important status and advantages, and excellent teachers, which established good professional confidence for the students. Then, Mr. Wu Gongxing explained to the students how to choose a suitable tutor and how to follow the footsteps of the tutor to grow step by step in the major. At the same time, Mr. Wu told the students that our school attaches great importance to the tutor training and gives great financial support. In the end, Professor Li Yunbo began to tell the story from the words shipbuilding and ocean engineering. By showing some achievements of this major in the world, he told the students the great significance of shipbuilding and ocean engineering to the country and the world.
Through this professional awareness education, the freshmen of Naval architecture and ocean engineering understand the bright employment prospects of this major, strengthen the recognition and confidence of this major, and fully realize the difference between university learning and previous learning, and realize the importance and methods of independent learning.
