In order to help freshmen better understand their major, enhance their sense of identity and belonging to the major. At 15:00 on November 29, 2022, the major of Port Channel and Coastal Engineering of College of Ocean Science and Engineering carried out the professional cognition education for freshmen in the Teaching building 1A202. Mr. Tang Peng, deputy director of the Department of Port and Navigation, gave a lecture, instructor Lei Mengyu and all new students of Port and navigation major attended the meeting.
First of all, Mr. Tang from the professional setting and development evolution, professional connotation and characteristics, learning content and methods, employment direction four major aspects, detailed explanation, one by one in-depth. Later, Mr. Tang taught the students learning methods and key learning contents earnestly and recommended various forms of tutoring. In the end, Mr. Tang showed the employment prospects of the port and shipping major with detailed tables and data, which gave students a shot in the arm and made them have a clearer plan for the future.
In this professional cognition education, students learned about the long history and recognition of the port and navigation major of our university, and made clear the major characteristics of equal emphasis on port and navigation, strong river and sea. The students have expressed that in the future study and life will be more firm, more hard work, to win honor for Haike, Haida win honor!
